Wellbeing Committee
Student Wellbeing is a priority advocacy issue for the SLS this year.
That’s why we have established the SLS Wellbeing Committee, which will be chaired by Joel Tallerico, President of SLS.
The goals of the committee are to:
Work with the Faculty of Law and ASSIST to review what mental health and wellbeing supports are currently in place for UCalgary Law Students;
Research what other Canadian law schools do to support student mental health and wellbeing;
Increase communication to UCalgary Law Students on the supports available to them;
Develop an advocacy plan on improvements we would like to see UCalgary Law take to support student wellbeing.

Sexual Assault Awareness Committee
Sexual Assault Awareness is also a priority issue for SLS this year.
That's why we are establishing the SLS Sexual Assault Awareness Committee, which will be chaired by Erwin De Guzman, VP Academic of SLS.
The role of the Committee is to work alongside the University of Calgary Faculty of Law to deliver course content related to sexual assault and topics of that nature in a way that is both sensitive to students’ well-being and that supports them academically.
The following are the main objectives for the 2022-2023 year:
To raise awareness about the issues surrounding sexual assault and how this may impact students specifically;
To raise awareness about the resources available to students who have been impacted or know someone who has been impacted by sexual assault;
To work with the Faculty to provide course delivery of the sexual assault curriculum through trauma-informed teaching; and
To work with the Faculty to provide ways to accommodate students on exams that may include sexual assault as part of its subject-matter.

Student Lounge Improvement Committee
he Faculty of Law has received a generous donation to upgrade and improve our student lounge!
The SLS is looking to get feedback from students on what improvements should be made in the student lounge.
That's why we are establishing the SLS Student Lounge Improvement Committee, which will be chaired by Carter Lindsay, VP Administration of SLS.
The goals of the committee are to:
Brainstorm and develop feasible ideas for improvements to the student lounge;
Seek feedback on potential improvements from the student body;
Work with the Faculty of Law and the University administration to implement improvements.
